Shady Acres is situated in the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal and is conveniently located for the start of the Midlands Meander and is close to Queen Elizabeth Park, the headquarters of KZN Wildlife, and the Victoria Country Club's excellent golf course. 5 minutes away is the panoramic viewing point at World's View, the charming village of Hilton and its Quarry shopping centre.

Midmar Dam and the famous Howick Falls are 10 minutes drive away. There is an abundance of game parks and safari trails within 30 mintues distance and the golden beaches of Durban and Umhlanga are less than one hour away. The Drakensberg mountain resorts are an hour and a half away where visitors can enjoy majestic mountain views, walking trails and wildlife.
