DescriptionOur lodge is a 24-bed, self-catering bush camp located 10 minutes from central Pietermaritzburg, 45 minutes north of Durban, 5-hours south of Johannesburg. Acacia means real peace and quiet - close to town. Many of our guests were once patrons of PMB's hotels and guesthouses, but all were driven out by the incessant noise of the town. At Acacia we offer everything you need to accommodate self-catering, but an optional continental breakfast can be ordered and meals can be ordered in via Mr. Delivery. Accommodation is in eight, very comfortable three-bedded wooden cottages each with its own private veranda. In addition every cottage is equipped with Mnet TV, air-con, blankets, bedding, pillows, cutlery and crockery for four, a two-plate stove, microwave, pots and pans and a dining table with four chairs. Heaters and extra blankets are supplied in winter. The atmosphere is true Natal bushveld with parkland lawns interweaving through indigenous veldgrass leading to a unique rock swimming pool. All around the lodge flat-topped acacias spread shade and there is plenty of shady parking. Birding paths criss-cross the 9ha farm and antelope roam the veld and the bird life is prolific. If you are looking for quiet seclusion within easy reach of Pietermaritzburg, on your own or travelling with a large group, Acacia Bush Lodge is what you are looking for. If you are tired of the bustle of the CBD and need peace and quiet during your stay in Pietermaritzburg, then Acacia Bush Lodge is ideal. It is also perfect spot to explore the Midlands Meander, The Amble or even Durban.Accommodation Accommodation is Self catering or an optional Continental Breakfast delivered to your cottage.Acacia Bush Lodge (previously called Torwood) is a 26-bed bush camp about 10 minutes from central Pietermaritzburg and the Liberty Mall. Comfortable accommodation is offered in six, three-bedded and two, four-bedded air-conditioned cottages. Each cottage is fully equipped with high-quality appliances including stove, microwave, fridge and a full range of quality cooking utensils and crockery. All linen is provided - bring only your food. On the TV SABC and MNet is offered. Each cottage also has a private veranda and its own braai facilities, or picnic in the shade around our unique rock swimming pool. RatesWEEKDAYS R420 per chalet, per night, WEEKDAYS ONLY including Sunday to Thursday.Not available during dates over special events: e.g. Duzi, Royal Show, PMB Airshow, Comrades, Midmar Mile etc. WEEKENDS R450 per chalet, per night, (3 beds) Friday and Saturday.LARGE GROUPS - EXTENDED STAYS For larger group bookings please contact us for a quote.Large reductions are offered for large groups staying more than five night, especially during the week. ADDITIONAL CHARGES All chalets but one have 3 beds. Price for 4th person as follows:4-bed chalet. Add R40 per night. 3-bed chalets, bedding for (child) sharing. Additional charge R25.00 per additional bed, per night. Tea and coffee is provided in your cottage at no charge. BREAKFASTS (optional) Consists of choice of cereals, juice, fruit, yoghurt a muffin and preserves. (subject to minor change according to availability)R35.00 per person.
