Come and stay in our beautiful self contained thatched home in the lovely foothills of the SA KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, surrounded by open countryside and mountains with the unspoilt Mooi River running at the bottom of our sloping view site, where a genuine warm friendly welcome awaits you and nothing is too much trouble to make you comfortable. One of the benefits of running our self catering business is the pleasure we derive from meeting new people and the satisfaction from knowing that they have enjoyed their stay and have received a break from their hectic daily routine.

Manwood Lodge is a double-storey thatched house on beautiful 2ha sloping natural bush site overlooking the famous Drakensberg and Kamberg mountain ranges with 180 degree unobstructed views.

Whether you are en route to the coast, attending a wedding at one of the many wedding venues in the area, visiting children at one of the many private schools nearby or just wanting some peace and relaxation, Manwood Lodge is ideally situated.

Just over 4 hours from Johannesburg and one and a half hours from Durban. There is fishing available in the Mooi River at the bottom of the property as well as extensive bird life to be seen with over 100 species identified. Fishing is also available in one of the many dams on farms in the area. Activities close by include, hiking, horse riding, golf, bowls, hot-air ballooning, microlighting, to name but a few. There are some excellent restaurants in the area for you to sample the local cuisine and of course we are situated right in the middle of the famous "Midlands Meander". Not far away are the famous Battlefields of the Zulu and Anglo Boer War as well as several National Game Parks.

Accommodation

3 bedrooms (one king, one double and one twin), accommodating 6 people. Electric blankets, heaters and all linen provided. Lounge/dining room with fireplace (wood and anthracite provided). TV (SABC 1, 2, 3 & e-TV), Hi-Fi and radio. Full bathroom with shower (towels and toiletries provided). Fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer. Use of laundry if required. Serviced. Garage and carport. Braai facilities.
