Caversham Mill Manor, a four star graded establishment, is a beautiful, old yellowwood and stone house. It has been fully restored and offers three unique and private suites for those who have a taste for accommodation of distinction. Two of the suites are double rooms, each with their own bathroom, and open onto their own deck areas. The third is a family suite, consisting of two bedrooms separated by a bathroom. All suites are serviced on a daily basis.
Caversham Mill Country Cottages offer self-catering accommodation in Victorian-style wood and iron cottages which date from the early 1900’s. The cottages vary in size and sleep between 2 and 6 people depending on the cottage.

Caversham Mill Country Cottages Three wood and iron cottages were built on the property as Mill Manager houses for the Caversham Mill. They date from the early 1900s, and every effort has been made to preserve the original style in order to maintain their historical heritage. The exterior walls are made from mud/clay bricks with supporting wooden poles, and the floors and ceilings are of the original Oregon wood. Surrounded by tall trees and huge azaleas, the cottages are private and secluded, and guests are ensured a tranquil and relaxing visit. This accommodation is perfect for a self-catering getaway and tie in well with Caversham Mill Manor for a large group wanting to stay together. Each cottage has a log fireplace to keep you warm on a chilly winter's evening. There is a lounge with TV and dining room in each cottage. Fridge, freezer, microwave, stove and oven facilities are provided in each kitchen. Braai facilities are also provided and wood is supplied. Cottages are serviced daily. Linen is changed every 3rd day for long staying guests. Laundry facilities are available to those who wish to have their laundry done at a minimal charge. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and kettle are supplied and topped up daily in each suite. All suites are serviced on a daily basis. Guests have access to the common areas in the Manor: a casual TV lounge with log fireplace in close proximity to the open plan kitchen (only used when the whole house is booked by one group) and dining area; a formal lounge, also with an antique log fireplace and a library. All suites have telephones as cell phone reception can be intermittent. Outdoor deck and veranda areas are ideal relaxing and a braai with plenty of wood is supplied. Suite 4 is a family suite with 2 bedrooms (each bedroom has two single beds). The bathroom is between the two bedrooms. Suite 5 is a double room with an en suite bathroom – bath and shower (the bedroom has a king bed that can also be converted to two single beds, and a sleeper couch). Suite 6 is a double room with an en suite bathroom – bath and shower (the bedroom has a queen bed in it and a sleeper couch). The Manor opens onto rolling grassed lawns. A decked pathway leads through a wetland area down to the Lions River which runs in a semicircle around the property. A stroll along the well maintained paths will bring guests to the confluence of the Lions and Impafana Rivers, where it is pleasant to swim or picnic.
And within a few metres from the Manor is the Caversham Mill Restaurant and the ruins of the old Mill which is in the process of being restored. Manor guests can enjoy excellent food (breakfast and lunch seven days a week; and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday) on an à la carte basis. | | |
