Extending the warmth of South African Country Inns is the Lion & Elephant Country Inn & Conference Centre.

Get away from the 'hustle and bustle' without driving too far - situated a only a few minutes from Pietermaritzburg's CBD and the N3 highway, we offer a bushveld flavour amidst open grasslands, shady trees and abundant birdlife.

Charming cottages provide a relaxing space to rest a while with accommodation for 32 at the Lion Elephant, and an additional 45 at The Gables nearby. Cottages, all with televisions and M-net, range from cosy single rooms, all en-suite, to self-catering cottages with kitchenette, lounge and verandah.

Conferences

The function room with a capacity of 120 people can be arranged to suit any occasion, from conferences to weddings, is surrounded by a Colonial-style verandah large enough to hold a function on its own in the summer. Two new centres are currently in the process of being built.

Restuarant & Bar

The restaurant and bar complementing both accommodation & conference centre, has an African feel to it and lends itself to tasty food enjoyed alfresco on the verandah or under the eaves of the restaurant.
