This retreat is uniquely set in the Caversham Valley overlooking the Impafana River and lush indigenous forest. Walk scenic riverside trails through natural forest and grassland, enjoy the bird and wildlife species typical to riverine forest and grassland, experience the many attractions of the Midlands Meander or just sit back and enjoy the view from your chalet deck.....

Five rustic pine cabins (4 x 4 bed and 1 x 8 bed) are fully equipped and comfortably furnished. The chalets enjoy views of the Caversham Valley running down to the Impafana river and lush indigenous forest.

The cabins are built of locally grown, chemical free pine and consist of one double bedroom, bathroom, hallway with double bunks, kitchenette and living area which opens onto a sun-deck.

A sixth recently built brick house sleeps up to six people in 3 double bedrooms. The house offers 2 bathrooms, one en-suite and a spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen and veranda looking out over the valley.

Directions

FROM DURBAN: N3 towards Harrismith. Take Howick North/Tweedie interchange. At top of offramp turn left away from Howick. Turn right at the T-Junction onto the R103. Turn right onto D182 (same turnoff as Gunthers). Over bridge and up hill. Next right towards Caversham Mill. Look out for Otter's Creek sign on left. Gone too far if reach Caversham Mill. FROM JOHANNESBURG / HARRISMITH: N3 towards Durban. Take Balgowan turnoff onto D133. Turn right and cross over N3. Keep left all the way to Otter's Creek (sign on left). Gone too far if reach Caversham Mill. Do not turn right or take any right forks once on the D133.
